The waterfront park in Louisville acts as a front door to the city of Kentucky and a great place with diverse and vibrant use for people of different ages. The Waterfront Park can comfortably cater to mammoth gatherings of 350,000 during the Thunder Over Louisville and immediately shift focus to tiny groups of 25 or less for their family reunions. Such is the versatility of the facilities at this great water front destination.

Phase I of the park is where you will find the large open spaces fit for major events as well as smaller spaces for family gatherings. Among this, the Great Lawn holds the center stage. Phase I is also the venue for the largest of waterfront events in Louisville which include the Thunder Over Louisville during April and the Waterfront Independence Festival in July.

Phase II of the park is distinctly different from Phase I and holds a slew of smaller spaces fit for weddings, picnics, parties and events that are moderate in size. Phase II also affords an ambience where you can feel the nature without the overbearing influence of the City.

The Adventure playground and the Tumbleweed Southwest Grill contribute towards making Phase II the busiest area of the park, particularly during the summer months.

Phase III adds more excitement to the park and includes the Lincoln Memorial. Phase III when completed will connect the other two phases and align with the original master plan for the Waterfront Park. The Park truly deserves to be on the top of your Louisville Kentucky travel itinerary.
