Louisville Zoo

The Louisville which is also popularly known as the Louisville Zoological Garden is Louisville, Kentucky is comprised in 135 acres of space and presently exhibits over 1,300 animals in natural as well as mixed animal settings representing biomes as well as geographical areas.

During the 2006-07 season the Zoo played host to more than 810,000 visitors setting the highest record of annual attendance.

The Louisville Zoo takes special care to ensure that every child who arrives here for the annual fete has loads of fun and enjoyment apart from a few goodies to carry home. While dressing up for the Halloween party is essential for the kids, parents too can join the fun with appropriate attire.

The zoo was operating an open air car train service to take visitors around the expansive acres, but the facility has been suspended following an accident in October 2009. For the Locals who need gardening space, the zoo offers 'adopt a garden' scheme which is a volunteer program allowing families, groups or even individuals to adopt designated garden sites throughout the zoo.
