
Louisville Palace
The Louisville Palace represents a theatre with a long history dating back to 1928. This theater was designed by John Eberson and seats 2,700 people. The Palace is a sought after destinations for visitors on Louisville KY travel not just for the movies they screen, but also for the rich architecture that the palace has on offer.
The ornate and elegant Palace features a Spanish Baroque with arcades and motif, turrets and balconies. Bursts of red in association with Cobalt blue and gold provide indirect lighting to all the niches, entrances and coves.
The vaulted ceiling above is provided in a curved structure and features 139 sculptures of faces representing historical figures. Once you move into the actual theater room within the Palace you are greeted to a heavily ornamented surrounding with the ceiling displaying an imitation of the night time sky.
The theater comprises of two stories each with a floor and a balcony. Both the floors are provided with bars running across the width of the building at the rear end of the theater and are separated by grand lobbies featuring intricate architecture and art.
