University of Louisville was founded in the year 1798 and has a rich heritage. The university was the city's first publicly owned university. By the command of the Kentucky General Assembly the university is now a superb metropolitan research university. The university has a very finely tune academic program. The university offers study of 170 disciplines through various graduate, post graduate, and professional programs. The university has over 12 schools and colleges. Various undergraduate disciplines are Accountancy, aerospace studies, art, bioengineering, business administration, economics, literature and many more. Many PhD and master degree studies are also available from the university.
The university has well enriched separate libraries for separate departments. The library has installed a robotic retrieval system that can store up to a million books. Students can also connect to the library online database for reference. There are huge amount of information available for the students. There are seven library buildings altogether.
The university has several states of art campuses, which houses students, faculty and delegates. The housing for the students have facilities like telephone, data line per resident, cable TV, good kitchen facility and many more. The cost of living on the campus is moderate but depends on students. The campus is a diversified one with a friendly tone to it.
