Louisville Free Public Library is the largest public library located in the state Kentucky. The Louisville Public library was opened to the public in the year 1908. The Louisville Free Public Library was added to the national register of historic places in the year 1980. The library is located at: 301, York Street, Louisville, KY 40203.
The Library became the first free public library in the nation which put its own FM radio station in the year 1950. The first station of the library is the WFPL and the second station is WFPK. Other than the main library the Louisville free public library has 16 branches in various locations.
The library was established with a mission to provide the guest ideas and knowledge for their learning. The library provides excellent and convenient library facilities which are accessible to all the residents of Louisville. The library has excellent collections of books and other materials.
