Freedom Hall Louisville

Freedom hall is located in the south of downtown of Louisville. It was opened in the year 1956. It is known for its basket ball courts. It consists of about 18865 basket ball courts and 19200 concert halls. It is owned by commonwealth of Kentucky. It is operated by Kentucky exposition center. Best Known for Its Use as a Basketball Arena: Freedom Hall Louisville Upcoming Event Schedule and Profile

Although famous as a Baskeball Arena, Freedom Hall is a multipurpose arena and home to the Kentucky Exposition Center. With a rich History, the Hall has been used for different events such as the Kentucky State Fair World's Championship Horse Show. A Slice History of Free Hall Louisville: a Multipurpose Arena in Louisville

If you are into basketball and in Louisville, Kentucky, you definitely will not leave Louisville without visiting the city's known multipurpose arena, the Freedom Hall. Owned by the Commonwealth of Kentucky, the Freedom Hall is located on the grounds of the Kentucky Exposition Center and is better known for its being a basketball arena.

Completed in 1956, the hall that is in the then newly opened Kentucky Fair And Exposition Center had the facilities refurbished in 1984. The floor was lowered, which resulted into an increase of capacity from 16,664 to 18,865. Since then the Freedom Hall became the home of the Cardinal men's basketball.

Aside from being the home of the Cardinals, the Freedom Hall also become the witness of the NCAA tournament games for ten times, and hosted different conference tournaments. Aside from basketball, events held also other sports at the Freedom Hall particularly the famous event the Kentucky State Fair World's Championship Horse Show, and the North American International Livestock Exposition.

The Arena Football team called Louisville Fire also had played in the Freedom Hall but had stopped operations in November of 2008.

Aside from enjoying an even on the Freedom Hall, one will also love to have a look on different engraved bronze plaque that honors each inductee that can be seen at the Kentucky Athletic Hall of Fame located at the lower level of the Freedom Hall.

Aside from the above mentioned the Freedom Hall Louisville also hosted the University of Louisville men's basketball final game last March 6, 2010 against the Syracuse University.
